SALARY: R30,000-35,000 COMBINED DoE
Requirements: At least 5 years management experience.
Previous experience in a 4* or 5* lodge environment.
FGASA level 1 (minimum) full trails
Good references for all of your previous employers.
Fluent in English.
South African residency.
Lodge management experience with a luxury brand.
Sound financial acumen and Budget understanding.
Computer literate on MS Office suite, knowledge of Nightsbridge booking system an advantage

Lodge management couple needed for an intimate commercial Lodge situated in a Big 5 Game Reserve. We need a couple with solid experience/knowledge, and mature in character. This lodge has a very small team so would require managers with a hands-on management approach.
The couple will be expected to look after the lodge and work closely together with the lodge owners/ directors. Managers would be taking over most of the duties of the Directors, who have managed the lodge so far. We would like to improve staff training, as well as lodge meals, service, stock control, general maintenance and management of the lodge, offering guests 5* quality, at 4* rates (so budgets for food, beverages, maintenance and staff costs will have to be managed very well). No pets or children, as managers will live on site directly at the lodge.

You will be responsible for the client wildlife experience and for the other rangers who will report to you.
1. FGASA Level 1 minimum, Full Trails Guide, ARH, first aid
2. Cathsseta, NDT + Deat registered
3. Rifle advanced
4. Valid driver’s licenses + PDP (You may need to do guests transfers from time to time)
5. Staff management experience (Lodge maintenance and guides/ groundsmen management required)
6. Lodge Maintenance experience (Some general maintenance knowledge would be required)
7. Bonus would be photographic skills and Blog and Public Relations experience
On site 24-hour management
Responsible for maintaining excellent relations with Guest/ Suppliers/ Staff/ Agents
Administration/Accounts/Stock control measures
Management reports for accountant/ directors
Reservations (Nightsbridge) when required
Overseeing all staff including front of house / guides, service staff, housekeeping staff, groundsmen, maintenance staff and kitchen staff
Provide leadership to staff, Staff training, Evaluate staff performance,Disciplinary measures when necessary
Inspection of the property both structural and operational, ensuring high quality customer care/service
Assist maintenance staff with technical expertise/input Hospitality, housekeeping and kitchen to be maintained at a five -star standard
Management of Food and beverages
This position has purchasing authority to order supplies to restock within pre-determined budget Hygiene Stock control, Purchasing Monitoring food standards at the lodge, this will include: o Quality control o Plating style (Buffet) o Seasonal menu planning with the chefs
Customer care, dining with guests when appropriate, hosting and organising events.
Effectively manage the day to day operations of the lodge in line with the Company Standards and to achieve optimum financial results and better budget.
Implement policies and procedures, as agreed with the directors to ensure operations, financial controls, standards are being met – Implement reporting structures to ensure that information is readily available, so that you can in turn report weekly and daily to the directors
Building of relationships with all major suppliers to ensure effective business relations
Represent the Lodge in dealing with agents, staff, guests, suppliers and owners. – Staff management, development and training of all staff (all departments) including the recruitment, dismissal and transfer procedures in line with company policy – Financial and administrative management including the controlling of costs & expenses whilst maximizing revenue to achieve optimum profitability. – Implementation of controls to manage revenue and costs – Budget compilation to ensure efficient and profitable running of the lodge – Managing reservations – Maintenance Management: Monitor and control the Maintenance Department, Co-ordinate all major Repairs and Maintenance, Co-ordinate special projects, Instigate a planned maintenance system – Extensive interaction with guests.
This is a Live in position, includes accommodation, all meals, laundry and a pension fund. Salary: R30,000.00 – R35,000.00 Leave: 6 weeks on, 2 weeks off / In peak Seasons 9 weeks on, 3 weeks off
